We have taken technical and organizational measures against your information being accidentally or illegally deleted, published, lost, degraded or coming to the knowledge of unauthorized persons, misused or otherwise processed in violation of the law.

Clauses used

According to the rules in the personal data regulation, the RDDC, as the data controller, must inform the registered persons about their rights in connection with the processing of the information.

The RDDC registers and processes personal data pursuant to Article 6 of the Personal Data Regulation. Sensitive data, e.g. health data or data on race or ethnic origin, political, religious or philosophical beliefs or trade union affiliation as well as data on the person's sexual relationship or sexual orientation are registered and processed pursuant to Article 9 of the Personal Data Regulation. Processing of sensitive personal data in research projects is covered by Section 10 of the Data Protection Act.

Processing and storage

The RDDC processes personal data confidentially. The personal data will be processed and stored in the Ministry of Defence's group-wide case processing systems as well as the RDDC's own processing systems for education in the Danish Defence. When the information is no longer needed for the purpose for which it was collected, it will be deleted or archived in the Ministry of Defence's joint case and document handling system (KESDH) and later in the National Archives.

The RDDC also stores the information if it is part of a legal proceeding or if the Norwegian Defense Academy is considering using the information in a legal proceeding.

Personal data included in research and development projects may be transferred to the National Archives for archiving.

Disclosure of information

The information will not be passed on to others without the registered person being informed of this, unless the RDDC is obliged to pass on the information to other public authorities.

Research data may only be passed on for research purposes or for statistical purposes.

Data Insights

As a registered person, you can contact the RDDC at any time in regard to obtaining a copy of your own information, which is found in the RDDC's systems.

However, the RDDC is not obliged to hand over a copy of the information included in research projects.

Correction of information

If you believe that incorrect information has been registered about you, you can request the RDDC to correct the information. This means that the RDDC corrects the information or notes that the information is incorrect and registers the correct information. You are entitled to have the data controller disregard the information until it has been determined which information is correct.

You also have the right that the RDDC does not use the information if it is no longer needed.

However, participants in research projects do not have a right to have research data corrected.

Objection

Registered persons have the right to object to the processing of the information if the RDDC processes the data as part of a task assigned to it. This means that registered persons have the option of refusing the RDDC to process the information. However, participants in research projects do not have the right to object to the processing of information included in a research project

Withdrawal of consent and deletion of information

If the RDDC has obtained consent from you to process the information, you will be able to revoke the consent at any time. The RDDC cannot therefore continue to process the information after the consent has been withdrawn.

You have the right to have information that the RDDC has registered about you deleted if the information is no longer necessary for the purpose for which it was collected. The information will also be deleted if you withdraw your consent to the processing or if the information has been processed illegally by mistake.

You are not entitled to the deletion of information that has been archived in accordance with the RDDC's rules in KESDH or handed over to the National Archives.

Information that forms part of a research project must not be deleted if this is likely to mean that it will make it impossible or seriously hinder the completion of the research project.
